Woodlands Center

The Foundation launched the Woodlands center which houses a dojo, computer lab, library & kitchen for skills development.

The center serves as the headquarters and hosts the girls from the Chibolya, Kanyama & Matero satellites on a structured timed program.

The girls come in for training in the Dojo, reading & writing classes, IT lessons & for those on the Skills program for catering & baking lessons.

challenge

One of the key challenges the foundation has been facing is mindset change resistance.

The girls are ignited, inspired and released into the environment that brings vices into their lives and so the hope of constant progress diminishes.

Parents opt for the easy way out to marry vulnerable girls or send them to fend for the family through vending and this exposes the girl child to gender based violence which may result into rape or sexual exploitation. This puts them at risk of not only underaged pregnancy but exposure to HIV and STIs.
